Surviving on an Inhabited Island

This is an explanation based on how I could provide food, water and shelter whilst stranded on an Island.

If I were stranded on an Island and had to provide food water and shelter I would use rocks with sharp ends to help sharpen a stick that would hopefully hold things down and secure leaves.

My shelter would be made out of leaves and bamboo to cover us from the rain. I would get wood that’s tied together and a huge leaf on top so that we don’t get splinters while we sleep.

I may not find any water but I would drink milk from coconut or collect water from the rain. For food I would eat fish but I would probably get sick of eating fish so I would find other things to eat like seafood or the coconut because that’s probably the only things that we would survive on.

That’s what I would do if I were stranded on an island with 2 or 3 people.

To conclude I know this will help me survive without any implements.

Stranded on an Island

This story is an explanation based on how I could provide water, food and shelter if I was stranded on an island without any implements.

If I was stranded on an island with only 2 of my friends I would find somewhere comfortable and calm where I would build my shelter. I would build my shelter using piles of wood, bamboo and rocks. I would find the sharpest rock to cut the flax and use it as a rope. I would also cut off bamboo and use it as the walls and a roof.

For food I would find a strong stick and sharpen it with the rock so I could catch sea food. To cover my food I would use coconut shells and leaves. I would make fire to stay warm and to cook my sea food. I would wash myself in the sea and when it rains I would find the biggest leaf and use it to drink out of. But most importantly I would pray for help until one day help comes.

To conclude I know this experience will help me survive on an island without any modern day tools.

Porohu Best Holidays

In the holidays the first week we went to Wellington for five days. After that we went to Motuhe because it was my cousin Sarah’s birthday she turned 8 years old. We stayed there for 2 day’s, all I did was swim at the beach. We caught some flounder it was so yummy and juicy.

The next week we went to Skate-land it was very funny because a lot of people fell down ohh... yeah and I was one of them hahaha... On Tuesday we went to the pools it was boring because we had to stay inside.

Then on Friday we went to the movies and watched “Despicable Me” it was so funny.

Well that was the best part of my holiday. It was cool, I love my holidays because I got to spend my time with my family and also have fun.

What I enjoyed this term!!!!

This term we have been doing a lot of singing. We sing with Whaea Kathy on Monday’s. Whaea Kathy is a lot of fun because she makes it exciting for us. She has taught us alot of new songs but the songs I enjoy the most is the Rarotongan song and Si Ya Hama. My highlight for the term of course is singing with Whaea Kathy and I am going to miss her because she will not be back. BUT I am hoping she will come back.
