An Exciting Term 1

This term I have enjoyed making new friends. Ever since I started this school I have made friends with Cherub who is now my best friend.

I love playing sport. This term, the first sport I played at Tamaki Intermediate was softball. It was amazing because I made it in to the team. We went to the softball Eastern Zone and Inter-Zone Tournaments. Guess what, we won! Boy, was that exciting!

I also learned a lot of new stuff in Mathematics, Reading and Writing. In Reading I learned how to sequence cut out pictures and text without looking at the story.

In Mathematics we learned a lot of new stuff. Even though I think I am weak in Math I do like to try and give it go.

For writing I learned how to structure my report and how to edit and proof-read my work to make it sound fantastic.

To conclude, I have learned to do many new things and now I am being able to do intermediate standard work successfully. For me this is really exciting.

A Different and Challenging Term 1 at Tamaki Intermediate

This term has been really challenging and at times very different compared to how it was at primary school.

There are many events and educational tasks that I have carried out this term and it has been really exciting for me in this new school. For example, playing soft ball, volley ball and participating in the exciting and challenging House Sports has been thrilling. Soft ball gave me an opportunity to represent our school and also to mix and mingle with other students. I had a lot of fun and the chance to try to win softball which was really cool.

I learned new concepts and vocabulary in Mathematics; like place value, mean, median, mode, range and many more new and exciting words. For reading I learned how to sequence a story using the cut up text and illustrations without reading the story first. It was something very knew. I also learned how to write a report and now I can do it independently.

All that I learned this term makes me look forward to Term 2. As well as learning new skills in reading, writing and Mathematics, I am looking forward to Term 2 Sports activities!
